Peggy Nelson

The Honorable Judge Peggy Nelson (ret.) served 18 years as NM’s 8th Judicial District Judge. Extensive experience with non-profits. V.P. of Amigos Bravos. Accomplished violinist and mandolin player.

William Ebie
Vice President

Visual artist. Extensive experience in the arts, non-profits and artist residency programs. Former Director at Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program (18 years). President of Capitol Art Foundation.

Harald Hahn

Supporter of the arts. Extensive experience with non-profits. President of L.A. based environmental foundation. Extensive history with The HWF.

Michael Knight
Treasurer & Director Emeritus

Executive Director (Emeritus) of The HWF for 17 years. Supporter of the arts. Retired social worker and administrator for NM CYFD.

Joseph Caldwell

The Honorable Judge Joseph E. Caldwell is a former District Attorney and retired District Judge in Taos, international legal consultant, composer and musician (guitar and charango).

Janet Webb

Retired owner of design/marketing company Webb Design Inc., focused on tourism & the fine arts arena. Involved with several Taos arts organizations including Paseo Project and SOMOS, the literary society of Taos.

Tito Naranjo

Professor Emeritus and Native American author. Visual artist: painter, sculptor, ceramicist. Community activist. Extensive experience with non-profits.

Our Staff

Nicholas (Nic) Knight
Executive Director

Nic has served as executive director since 2015. He is a guitarist and has experience in talent booking, non-profits, startups, business management, and web development. For fun Nic likes to play guitar, ski, ride his motorcycle, travel, and enjoy the outdoors.

Dolores Jeantete
Home Caretaker

Dolores has been caring for Helene's home since 1981. Her dedication and kindness is cause for deep gratitude and commendation.

Mitch Austin
Facilities Manager

Mitch has been with HWF since 2015, and applies his expertise in several fields to make sure the casitas stay in top shape. He also serves as inspiration for artists in residence, having had portraits, poems, songs, and literary characters made after him.

Elizabeth (Zili) Mason
Office Assistant

Zili has been our office guru since 2016. She keeps our books on track, and makes sure the office plants stay happy.

Marcos Chavez

Marcos has been making the campus property look good since 2017.
